My name is Lina Jarkas. I am dedicated to helping individuals overcome challenges, manage stress, and improve their daily functioning. I hold two bachelor’s degrees in psychology: the first from Damascus University (2001) and the second from the University of Saskatchewan (2019), which allows me to provide mental health services in both English and Arabic.
I completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University, along with intensive training in clinical assessment and CBT Level 2 at Unified CBT Academy. I am a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).
I have worked in the Middle East, the United States, and Canada with diverse populations across the lifespan, from young children to older adults, offering individualized care and support. My experience includes working with individuals with autism, caregivers, older adults managing chronic illnesses, newcomers adjusting to new environments, as well as adults experiencing a range of mental health challenges.
I believe that when knowledge, experience, and the right therapeutic tools come together, meaningful change becomes possible and effective support can be provided.
Outside of the clinic, I am a wife and mother of two children, and I value maintaining a healthy balance between personal and professional life.
